Do We Have Room?
Posted in Poetry Leave a comment
Do we have room for You, Jesus?
What things really fill up our life?
What peace do we have at this moment?
When the world is so full of strife?
Do we have room for You, Jesus?
Or do other things simply come first?
Do we long for our true home in heaven?
Does Your Word make us hunger and thirst?
Do we have room for You, Jesus?
Does the inn of our heart shut You out?
Do we know who You are, why You came, what You taught
As You traveled and preached all about?
Do we have room for You, Jesus?
Does anything else own our heart?
We can only be slaves to one Master.
You deserve more than just a small part.
Do we have room for You, Jesus?
Do we have room for Your Word?
Does Your Spirit convict us of sin?
Can we say that we truly have heard?
Do we have room for You, Jesus?
To whom do we faithfully bow?
Who sits on the throne of our life?
The Day of Salvation is now!
Do we have room for You, Jesus?
Keep us still; help us know it is You.
Quiet the clamor, the din, and the lies.
Speak to our heart what is true.
Make room in our hearts, Lord Jesus.
We need them filled only with You.
Breathe into us Life; re-create us.
Give us a life that is new.
Was it not I, the Lord? And there is no other God apart from Me, a righteous God and Savior; there is none but Me. Turn to Me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. By Myself I have sworn, My mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before Me every knee will bow; by Me every tongue will swear. They will say of Me,”In the Lord alone are righteousness and strength.”
(Isaiah 45:21-24)
